BAREBOAT CHARTERS
Oman Charter offers bareboat charters on either of our beautiful sailing yachts: Naseem Al Bahr, our Bavaria 40 or Arous Al Bahr, our Nicholson Ketch 48. Bareboat Charters are for those independent sailors who want to sail at their own pace, following their own route. Start and end dates are fixed, but in between you can do as much or as little as you and your crew decide. Trips ashore can be fitted in amongst the sailing. For sailors whose only previous experience is flotilla sailing the freedom of bareboating comes as a pleasant surprise. After initial briefing your time is your own - no fixed routes and deadlines, it's up to you to choose the pace of your holiday.
If you are not sure whether you have enough experience to take a bareboat charter, our guidelines below will help you, particularly if you have not bareboat chartered before in unfamiliar waters. In any case contact us for advice. We may even suggest you take a skipper for a few days to help you especially if you have not sailed recently or on a similar yacht.
We will use our local knowledge and expertise to help set you up with everything you need to enjoy your charter.
Price: Bareboat Charters begin at RO 300 for the first day, RO 250 for days 2-7 and just RO 225 per day thereafter.
BAREBOAT SKIPPERED OPTION
Bareboat Skippered Option. - You can take a bareboat yacht with a skipper.
We know that for a variety of reasons some charters either require, or prefer to have a professional skipper on board.
You can take the stress and responsibility out of your sailing holiday by taking your bareboat charter with one of our skippers. They are great fun and are excellent at breaking the ice with new crews whilst ensuring that everyone on board fully participates and has a trip to remember. Their depth of knowledge of the sailing area will help show you places not obvious on the chart, ensure that you sail safely and get the most out of your sailing holiday.
It is a good option for those who do not hold the necessary qualifications/experience to charter bareboat, or if you just want to sit back and relax safe in the knowledge someone else is responsible for the boat. All of our skippers are experienced yachtsmen, and will bring with them a working knowledge of the Gulf of Oman and how best to manage a modern cruising yacht. The skipper will not give formal instruction, but help show you how to get the very best from your charter yacht. Members of your party will be expected to join in and assist. Our skippers will also have good ideas on the best places to go around the coast for any activities you choose whether exploring, swimming or snorkelling.
The skipper will be employed by the company, and he or she will have professional qualifications together with experience and knowledge of the coastline and anchorages. The daily rate for a skipper is 100 RO per day. You can take a skipper for just 1 or 2 days (depending on destination) or for the full duration of your holiday. A skipper and/or crewman will each require a berth. The cost of food for the skipper/hostess is included.
